The voltage protection relay MRU4 provides precise and reliable protective functions and is very easy to operate. It is designed to protect electrical equipment from dangerous voltage fluctuations. For example protection against under voltages caused by mains shortcircuits, or overvoltages due to load shedding or failure of a generator voltage controller.

 

 

Its compact design makes the MRU4 ideal for installation within the LV terminal compartments of compact SF6-insulated MV systems. The protection functions of the MRU4 have been adapted to comply with the requirements of the VDE AR N 4110:2018. The MRU4 is available in 48 variants, that cover all combinations of properties that you might need or not need for your application. Each variant is uniquely specified by a typecode of form MRU4-2xxxxx (i.e. 5 digits/letters following the ‘-2’). Woodward MCDLV4-Family Protection relay : Line Differential Protection

 

The cable / line differential protection relay MCDLV4 is designed to be used pairwise for protecting cables and lines up to 24 km. There can even be an in-zone transformer within the line to be protected. In addition, it comes with a very comprehensive protection package like phase, restricted earth fault, inrush detection, and monitoring functions including grid interconnection and control functionality up to 6 switchgears.
The intuitive operating concept with plausibility checks and extensive commissioning functions such as the built-in fault simulator allows a safe and time-optimized maintenance and commissioning. The parameter setting and evaluation software Smart view can be used consistently across the entire family of devices.

Smart view is even capable of monitoring the remote MCDLV4 via the protection communication interface between the two MCDLV4 devices. The MCDLV4 is available in 576 variants, that cover all combinations of properties that you might need or not need for your application. Woodward Basic Line family Din rail supervision relay

Woodward Basic Line family  supervision relays for low voltage applications are equipped with a precise micro-controller and designed for DIN-rail mounting. They are easy to operate and simplify commissioning. This is advance technology at low price. Rated voltage and frequency can be set by means of DIP switches; pick-up values and tripping delays via potentiometers. The wide-range power supply for AC and DC make these relays universal.

BU1AC AC Voltage Relay : Woodward Basic Line family

Unit BU1-AC is equipped with an independent over- (U>) and undervoltage supervision (U<) with separate adjustable pickup values and common trip delay (t) and hysteresis (DIFF). The voltages are compared with the set reference values. For three-phase overvoltage supervision the highest voltage in each phase is evaluated, for under-voltage supervision the lowest in each phase.

Pickup of supervision circuit U> or U< is indicated by flashing of the corresponding LED. At U< – tripping LED U< extinguishes, at U> – tripping. LED U> is steady lit. At voltages < 60 % Un no trip delay takes place. Unit BU1-AC is designed to be fastened onto a DIN-rail acc. to DIN EN 50022 same as all units of the BASIC LINE.

The front panel of the unit is protected with a sealable transparent cover (IP40). LED U< is used to indicate trouble free operation with steady light. LEDs U> and U< indicate pickup of the re-lay by flashing. At undervoltage tripping LED U< extinguishes. LED U> indicates tripping at overvoltage (steady light).

Unit BU1-AC needs no separate auxiliary voltage sup-ply. The supply voltage can be formed direct-ly from the measuring quantity.

• The relay BUA1 measures amplitude and angle of three phase voltages. The angle of the phasors determine the phase sequence. Unbalance and phase loss are detected by the measurement of amplitude and angle.
• ΔU characterizes the difference of the lowest to the highest phase-to-phase voltage related to nominal voltage. The underfrequency element trips if the frequency falls below 45 Hz.

Applications

The Woodward BU1DC2 is a voltage relay specifically designed for the supervision of DC voltages.

Unit BU1-DC2 is equipped with an over- (U>) and undervoltage supervision (U <) with separate adjustable pick-up values ??????and common trip delay (t) and hysteresis (DIFF). The DC voltage measured is constantly compared with the set reference values. Any voltage signal, which exceeds the set reference value for overvoltage, or falls below the set reference value for undervoltage, will cause the respective relay to trip after elaps of the time delay. Pick-up of the supervision circuit, either U> or U <, is displayed by the corresponding flashing LED. At undervoltage tripping LED U -tripping LED U> is steady lit.

Woodward WI Line Family WI LINE CT powered protection relays

Woodward WI Line Family : All relays from this Woodward’s WI Line are self-powered time overcurrent relays, which means they take their energy from the current transformers. Since they do not require auxilliary power, the WI Line relays are well suited for use in self-sustaining transfer and distribution stations, local grids, and ring-main-units.

Tripping characteristics  of Woodward WI Line Family

Tripping characteristics range from two-stage, independent (DEFT) and dependent (INV) time-overcurrent protection, up to special characteristic curves. As further options, we offer some relays with integrated earth fault protection. Woodward has also developed serial products, which match nearly any circuit breaker commonly available on the market. The electronic parts of the relays are completely sealed in. This makes the relays resistant to even the very worst environmental influences.
