Leveraging the built-in switching and routing capabilities of the RUGGEDCOM RX1500, the RUGGEDCOM APE is a utility-grade computing platform that plugs directly into any member of the RUGGEDCOM RX1500 family and makes it possible to run third party software applications without the complications and inconveniences of procuring an external industrial PC.
RUGGEDCOM APE is available pre-installed with Microsoft Windows 7 Embedded, Linux, and CheckPoint GAiA platforms. As it is compliant to the standards of a PC, the user can choose to install and run their customized operating system as they choose.
RUGGEDCOM APE provides one Gigabit Ethernet link on the front of the unit, and another equal, but completely separated link to the backplane of the RX15xx chassis. This physical separation of ports and the special arrangement of the connections on RUGGEDCOM APE make it an ideal platform for networking and security-related applications, examples of which are security appliances, firewalls, network log and load processors, and intrusion sensors.
Through the use of a virtual machine, old software can be run on new and secure operating systems on the RUGGEDCOM APE, making it possible to extend the life of obsolete and unsupported software. All variants of RUGGEDCOM APE are available with optional conformal coating, and are qualified for operating ambient temperatures of -40º C to +70º C. It meets all the electrical specifications of the RUGGEDCOM RX15xx platform, namely IEC61850-3 and IEEE 1613 for operation under some of the harshest industrial conditions.

The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 is a compact form factor rugged Ethernet switch with two EoVDSL2 uplinks and two gigabit SFP uplinks providing the flexibility to use copper or optical infrastructure in harsh environments.
The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 comes with 6 Fast Ethernet ports, 2 SFP-Slots supporting Gigabit and Fast Ethernet and 2 EoVDSL2 uplinks.
The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 is a rugged 10-port managed Ethernet switch, supporting Ethernet over VDSL2 (EoVDSL2) and allowing up to 2.9 km LAN segments over telephone-grade cable at up to 85 Mbps with optional SFP slots supporting Gigabit and Fast Ethernet.
With the RUGGEDCOM RSL910 it is possible to reuse existing copper cabling to enable rail and road operators to achieve broadband speeds between equipment cabinets. This is a cost efficient way of converting legacy systems into modern Ethernet-based applications which allow reliable, low latency connectivity to control centers.
The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 combines EoVDSL2 and SFP-slots in the same device for a migration path from legacy 2-wire copper cabling to high speed fiber optic or other advanced network topologies.
The RUGGEDCOM RSL910 performs well under harsh conditions and is therefore suitable for use in outdoor environments where support for low and/or high temperatures is mandatory. Besides support for harsh environments the device is also approved and certified for use in transportation applications (EN50121-4, EN50121-3, EN 45545-2 and NEMA TS2).

Combining Ethernet switching, wireless LAN, routing and firewall functionality in one, the RUGGEDCOM RX1400 holds its own in the most demanding industrial environments. As a cellular router, it eliminates the need for extensive communication infrastructures. In addition to providing IP40 protection, it requires no internal fans for cooling to operate reliably in an extended temperature range of -40° C to +85° C.
The RUGGEDCOM RX1400, thanks to its compact form factor and multi-function capability, offers a cost saving solution for large scale deployments by avoiding the need for multi-device solutions to achieve the needed interface, switching, routing and application hosting capabilities.
The RUGGEDCOM VPE1400 provides a virtualized environment to run a guest Linux operating system and third party applications on the RX1400, enabling intelligence at the network edge.
Virtualization allows a full Linux image (with dedicated storage media and I/O ports) to run in parallel with the RUGGEDCOM ROX II, using a Linux KVM (Kernel Virtual Machine) based solution. The KVM ensures that the guest OS and third party applications can run without impacting RUGGEDCOM RX1400 core services running on the system. The RUGGEDCOM RX1400 is an all-in-one solution for plug-and-play connectivity to MindSphere. This compact, single device solution provides the combined capabilities of data acquisition, conversion and communication with MindSphere.
